A man has been taken to hospital after receiving advanced life support at the side of a road this afternoon.
West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to Money Lane in Chadwich, Bromsgrove, shortly before 12.45pm and sent two ambulances, a paramedic officer and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford to the scene.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “On arrival, crews discovered a car that had come to rest against a tree and the driver, a man, in cardiac arrest.
“The man, who had been taken out of the car by bystanders, received CPR and advanced life support from ambulance staff before being moved on to a land ambulance.
“The air crew travelled with the patient to help continue treatment en-route to Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham, during which time they managed to successfully restart his heart.
“On arrival at the hospital, the man’s condition is still thought to be serious.”
