Seven people have been assessed by ambulance staff following a road traffic collision in Walsall this afternoon.
West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to the incident at the junction of Lazy Hill and Chester Road at just before 12.15pm.
Three ambulances, a paramedic officer and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford attended the scene.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “Crews responded to a road traffic incident involving three vehicles in Walsall.
“An elderly couple travelling in one of the cars involved was trapped in their vehicle. A woman passenger, believed to be in her eighties, was treated for chest injuries. She was transferred to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital by land ambulance. A doctor from the air ambulance travelled with the patient.
“The driver of the car, a man in his eighties, was treated for chest and back pain and conveyed to Walsall Manor Hospital.
“Five further patients were assessed by ambulance staff at the scene and released.”
